What nonprofits can I donate to?

You may donate directly to one of the 10 CCFD umbrella agencies or to any of the designated nonprofits listed under each agency.

Browse CCFD agencies and nonprofits →

Does my gift count toward the goal for the university department or unit from which I retired?

You may select which department or unit receives credit for your donation. The Retiree Pledge Form includes a place to indicate which unit you would like to receive credit for your contribution.

How is the release of information handled?

The Retiree Pledge Form allows you to indicate how, or if, you would like to be contacted. You may choose not to be contacted by the agency or choose to receive an acknowledgment from the agency for your contribution.

I have given directly to United Way in the past and plan to continue this year. Can I receive CCFD credit for my direct contribution?

If your contribution to United Way occurs during the 2026 CCFD Campaign, it may be counted. CCFD works closely with the United Way of Champaign County to ensure both campaigns give the donor credit for their contribution.

When giving directly to United Way, let them know you are a University of Illinois retiree, including your department, and would like to receive CCFD credit for your donation.

If you give to United Way through the 2026 CCFD campaign, United Way will be informed of your gift.

What if I want to give to a charity that is not listed as part of the 10 umbrella agencies?

CCFD no longer accepts write-in donations to organizations outside of our umbrella agencies. However, you can choose from nearly 700 approved nonprofits across the 10 agencies.
